The first Thai patient in southern Thailand to have had Robotic Surgery to cure colorectal cancer

Ms. Rattanaporn Srimuang came from Samut Prakan province and has lived in Phuket for a long time. In the beginning, she had a slight stomach ache on the left. She thought that it was just general stomach ache, or a result of heavy lifting. Upon check-up at Bangkok Hospital Phuket, it dawned on her that it was potentially malignant, compared with her previous thought as just haemorrhoids with insignificant blood in stool. On the contrary, after the check-up, she was transferred for further care by top colorectal surgeon Dr. Art Hiranyakas in our one of the Excellent Center – Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute. He diagnosed her condition, using a biopsy only to find that she actually had colorectal cancer.
