Robotic Colorectal Surgery Patient Testimonials
The first Thai patient in southern Thailand to have had Robotic Surgery to cure colorectal cancer
Ms. Rattanaporn Srimuang came from Samut Prakan province and has lived in Phuket for a long time. In the beginning, she had a slight stomach ache on the left. She thought that it was just general stomach ache, or a result of heavy lifting. Upon check-up at Bangkok Hospital Phuket, it dawned on her that it was potentially malignant, compared with her previous thought as just haemorrhoids with insignificant blood in stool. On the contrary, after the check-up, she was transferred for further care by top colorectal surgeon Dr. Art Hiranyakas in our one of the Excellent Center – Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute. He diagnosed her condition, using a biopsy only to find that she actually had colorectal cancer.
Dr. Art explained her about the benefits of da Vinci Robotic Surgery, which is the advance technology with greater precision, smaller incisions and quicker recovery. After the surgery, she got up and ran about most usual routine at ease, and just to stay away from heavy lifting in the following 2 – 3 months. She believes that the quality of treatment there surpasses elsewhere as she’s been through many places. Fortunately, she found what appeared to be insignificant to be a real danger, so it’s better to prevent it and consult a specialist once you feel even a slightest sign. No need to wait until it grows big, as we never know what is actually going on inside the body.
“Simple & Painless” colonoscopy at Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute
Mr. Dennis Frank Bowman, an American Expat living in Phuket and a business owner (Phuket Directory), had colonoscopy at the Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute. Aimed at early detection and prevention of colorectal cancer and diseases, colonoscopy is very quick, easy, and absolutely painless. He just controlled his diet and emptied his bowel the day before check-up date, and then underwent colonoscopy where the surgeon allowed him to see the inside of his bowel. He was very happy and excited. After the exam, he briefly recovered, could get up and walk away. Fortunately, his screening did not find any abnormality to his great relief. He would like to recommend everyone to have such early screening, as early detection can pick up things before you have symptoms. His colonoscopy was performed by colorectal surgeon Dr. Art Hiranyakas on 9 January 2014. Mr. Dennis is actually the first patient at the Bangkok-Phuket Colorectal Disease Institute, which opened that day.
